Calvary Christian has gone a perfect 3-0 against Lakeside School recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Calvary Christian Knights will head out to square off against the Lakeside School Chiefs at 6:30 p.m. Calvary Christian will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Calvary Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Holtville on Saturday, sneaking past 9-8.
Colton Silvestri tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Bryson Brooks was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Houston, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, Lakeside School put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's fifth consecutive shutout on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over St. Anne-Pacelli. Considering the Chiefs have won 15 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Not much got past Boston Brown, who gave up just four hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep St. Anne-Pacelli off the board. Brown has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tyler Mark Bullock, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was Conner Britton, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Lakeside School kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.
Lakeside School has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. Calvary Christian now has a winning record of 4-3.
Calvary Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Lakeside School in their previous meeting back in February, winning 6-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Calvary Christian since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
