Basketball Game Preview: Chavez Titans vs. Weston Ranch Cougars

The Chavez Titans will challenge the Weston Ranch Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Chavez and eight for Weston Ranch.

Chavez is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against McNair on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Chavez was outmatched by McNair and fell 78-42. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1169th, while the Eagles are ranked 382nd).

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 54-12, which was the final score in Weston Ranch's tilt against Piedmont on Saturday.

Weston Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Chavez, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-23.

Chavez strolled past Weston Ranch in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 45-28. Does Chavez have another victory up their sleeve, or will Weston Ranch turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
