Basketball Recap: Buhach Colony Takes a Loss

Buhach Colony was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 35-29 heartbreaker at the hands of the Stone Ridge Christian Knights. The Thunder were probably out for revenge after losing 62-55 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Leading Stone Ridge Christian to victory were Bella Ewig and Tailynn Dungy. Ewig posted 22 points in addition to eight boards and four steals, while Dungy had seven points along with 12 steals and eight boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Ewig has scored at least a third of Stone Ridge Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikyla Beene, who put up six points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Buhach Colony's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Stone Ridge Christian, they moved to 1-3 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Buhach Colony will take on Delhi in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Buhach Colony is facing Delhi at the right time seeing as Delhi is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Stone Ridge Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ceres at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
