Dominion Christian waltzed into their match on Thursday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Kennesaw Mountain Mustangs, sneaking past 3-1. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Gabe Buckner made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Buckner wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jaxon Bowen, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Dominion Christian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive contests.

Dominion Christian's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Kennesaw Mountain, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-10 record this season.

Dominion Christian will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Walker at 5:30 p.m. on the 14th. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Kennesaw Mountain, they will square off against New Manchester at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
