Baseball Game Preview: Ellington Knights vs. Enfield Eagles

The Ellington Knights will head out to face off against the Enfield Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Ellington is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Ellington made easy work of Granby Memorial and carried off a 14-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won eight in a row.

Dylan Killoran made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Jack Weigand was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Hebert, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, while Enfield put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for East Hartford. The Eagles walked away with a 5-0 win over the Hornets.

Ellington's record is now 13-4. As for Enfield, their record now sits at 5-12.
