Softball Recap: Douglass Beats Mt. Zion for Their Fourth Straight Win

Douglass extended their winning streak to four on Monday, bumping them up to 7-4. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Mt. Zion Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for the Astros, who have now won four games by eight runs or more so far this season.

As for Mt. Zion, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4. Having soared to a lofty 24 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Mt. Zion's part, Saniyah Jones made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run.

Coming up, Douglass will challenge Riverdale at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Zion will be paying especially close attention to the Astros' match: after the Astros face off against the Raiders, they'll take on Mt. Zion again at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
