Softball Recap: Discovery Canyon Takes a Loss

Discovery Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 13-4 to the Rocky Mountain Lobos. The Thunder were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lobos apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Izzie Ackerman made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Tylee Creps, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Discovery Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Rocky Mountain, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Discovery Canyon wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 12-9 defeat against Grand Junction on the 23rd. As for Rocky Mountain, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-7 victory against Mead on the 23rd.
