Cole Allen Turns in Season-Best Performance

On Friday, St. John got the W thanks in part to Cole Allen playing the best football he has all season. Allen rushed for 332 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 13.8 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 62 yards.

If the past is any indication, Allen could be in store for another big game when he takes on Episcopal on Friday. Allen rushed for 276 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry the last time he and the Knights duked it out back in October of 2023.

Wayne Shanks Jr. Turns in Another Game with at Least Two Rushing Touchdowns

Wayne Shanks Jr. produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Kinkaid to the win on Friday. Shanks Jr. wasn't messing around, rushing for 275 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. The game was his fifth straight with two or more rushing touchdowns. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 64 yards.

The win (which was Kinkaid's fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. It'll be Battle of the Birds when Falcons dukes it out withEpiscopal School of Dallas at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Dean Calhoun Crosses Big Stat Threshold

Dean Calhoun's rushing tear continued on Friday as he dropped his fourth-straight game with 101+ rushing yards dating back to last season. He rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 46 receiving yards and a touchdown. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (101.2) per game.

Cooper's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4. Calhoun and Cooper will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Episcopal School of Dallas at 7:00 p.m. on October 18th.

A Season-Best Performance from David Capobianco Leads Kinkaid over St. Mark's

Kinkaid was led to victory by David Capobianco, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Capobianco threw for 169 yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The performance also marked the most rushing yards (17) he has had since back in September of 2023.

This season, Capobianco has thrown 8 touchdowns while averaging 161.8 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 2.17 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 10.33 rushing yards.

A Constellation of Stars for Kinkaid

Another Kinkaid player making an appearance on this list is Jordan Manuel. He picked up 99 receiving yards and a touchdown. He got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 53 yards.

If history really does repeat itself, Manuel might just drop another big game when he faces off against Episcopal School of Dallas on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Manuel saw the Eagles), he picked up 104 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
