Hutchinson won the last time they faced Valley Center and things went their way on Friday too. The Salthawks came out on top against the Hornets by a score of 25-18. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Salthawks.

Jeremyah Gaito-Karanu went supernova, rushing for 117 yards and two TDs.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Hutchinson proved: they limited Valley Center to a paltry 2.8 yards per carry. While two picked up at least 14 total tackles, Jackson Anderson stood above the rest. He made 14 total tackles and defended one pass. Hutchinson's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.1.

When it comes to explaining why Valley Center lost, don't look at Connor Thatcher. Despite the final result, he threw for 159 yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one score on the ground. 96 of Thatcher's passing yards were hauled in by Ray J Logan.

Hutchinson's record now sits at 2-0. As for Valley Center, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
