Softball Recap: Luther Takes a Loss

Luther blew Drumright out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Drumright got their revenge. The Lions fell just short of the Tornadoes by a score of 3-1. The contest marked the Lions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Luther saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blakely Bounds, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Luther's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3. As for Drumright, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Luther will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wellston at 4:30 p.m. on September 4. As for Drumright, they will square off against Casady at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
