Soccer Game Preview: Mayfield vs. Gadsden + Official Tickets

Mayfield is 2-8 against Gadsden since September of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Trojans will host the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mayfield will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Alamogordo on Thursday. The Trojans blew past the Tigers 6-2. Considering Mayfield have won eight contests by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Gadsden entered their tilt with Centennial on Thursday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Their defense stepped up to hand the Hawks a 1-0 shutout.

Gadsden's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Mayfield, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4-1.

Mayfield suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Gadsden when the teams last played on October 2nd. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Trojans were down 3-0.
