Basketball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Jefferson lost against Santee two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Jefferson Democrats had to suffer through an 80-16 loss at the hands of the Santee Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Democrats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1173rd, while the Falcons are ranked 425th).

Jefferson's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Santee, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 17-4.

Looking ahead, Jefferson will challenge Dr. Maya Angelou Community at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Santee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
