Soccer Game Preview: Wawasee vs. NorthWood

Wawasee is 1-8-1 against NorthWood since September of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Warriors will square off against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Wawasee has given up an average of 6.8 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wawasee fell victim to Plymouth and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Pilgrims/Rockies, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Wawasee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 264th, while Plymouth are ranked 108th).

Meanwhile, NorthWood had just enough and edged out Plymouth 2-1 on Tuesday. That's two games straight that NorthWood have won by just one goal.

Lucas Mullett and Trae Brandys scored both of NorthWood's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

NorthWood has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four matches. As for Wawasee, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.

Wawasee suffered a grim 6-1 defeat to NorthWood in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
