Mountain View suffers fourth straight loss on the road

Recap: Mountain View Vikings vs. Marshall Eagles

The Mountain View Vikings suffered their biggest defeat since November 17, 2023 on Friday. They were dealt a 55-10 loss at the hands of Marshall. Mountain View has struggled against Marshall recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Leading Marshall to victory were Destiny Ihiaso and Kaitlan Sakuma. Ihiaso scored ten points along with five rebounds, while Sakuma scored nine points along with five assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn Degooyer, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Mountain View bumped their record down to 4-10 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.8 points per game. As for Marshall, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain View will face off against Rosemead at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Marshall, they will head out on the road to take on Gabrielino at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gabrielino is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
