Soccer Game Preview: Fayette County vs. Luella

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Fayette County duke it out with Luella at 7:55 p.m. on Thursday. Fayette County has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 25.

Fayette County is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Spalding on Thursday. The Tigers fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 3-2. That's two games in a row now that Fayette County have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Luella came up short against Mary Persons on Tuesday and fell 5-3. While losing is never fun, Luella can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 329th, while Mary Persons are ranked 69th).

LASHAYNE HIBBERT and BEREWYN BERTRAND scored all three of Luella's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

This is the second loss in a row for Luella and nudges their season record down to 5-10. As for Fayette County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
