Basketball Recap: KIPP P Comes Up Short

KIPP P played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 50-17 loss at the hands of the Bertie Falcons. The Pride were down 40-13 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

KIPP P lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Natha Williams, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 23 boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bertie to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jasmine Taylor, who went 8-for-19 to rack up 20 points and eight steals. Another player making a difference was NiQuheia Perkins, who posted 11 points and five steals.

KIPP P's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Bertie, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

KIPP P and Roanoke Rapids will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bertie, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-22 defeat against Washington County on the 12th.
