Basketball Game Preview: Minarets Mustangs vs. Caruthers Blue Raiders

Minarets hasn't had much luck against Caruthers recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Minarets Mustangs will face off against the Caruthers Blue Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Minarets is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 40-39 heartbreaker at the hands of Riverdale.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Caruthers' good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They lost to McClatchy at home by a 65-49 margin.

Minarets' defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Caruthers, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-5.

Minarets took a serious blow against Caruthers in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 98-3. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Minarets was down 61-2.
