Basketball Game Preview: Petaluma Trojans vs. Justin-Siena Braves

The Petaluma Trojans will take on the Justin-Siena Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Petaluma is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against American Canyon on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Petaluma was dealt a 73-25 loss at the hands of American Canyon. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-12.

Meanwhile, Justin-Siena came tearing into Tuesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Dragons 54-24. Given the Braves' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Dragons are ranked 345th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Justin-Siena is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Petaluma, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-11.

Petaluma ended up a good deal behind Justin-Siena when the teams last played back in February of 2024, losing 49-30. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Justin-Siena's Jordan WASHINGTON, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards.
