McIntosh dropped down to 14-12 on Wednesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Union Grove Wolverines, falling 10-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chiefs of the 8-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.
Gracey Mustain made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.
As for Union Grove, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games.
On Union Grove's side, Sarah Glass looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Glass has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Jada Jackson was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emma Hunter, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McIntosh will welcome Northgate at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Union Grove, they will be playing at home against Hampton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
