Softball Recap: Lagrange's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

LaGrange dropped down to 6-4 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trinity Christian Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-0 back in August.

As for Trinity Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games.

For Trinity Christian's part, Mary Ruth Adkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. Adkins has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. LaGrange will challenge Starr's Mill at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Trinity Christian, they will face off against Spalding at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
