Lutheran has gone 6-1 against Palmer Ridge recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Lions will host the Bears at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Palmer Ridge will be up against a hot Lutheran team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. The Lions' pitcher stepped up to hand Northridge a 12-0 shutout on Wednesday.
Lutheran let Reese Walker and Elle Beausoleil run wild. Walker went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and one RBI, while Beausoleil went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two triples gave Walker a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zoe Stanislawski, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Lutheran always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northridge only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, Palmer Ridge won against Discovery Canyon on Wednesday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Everything went the Bears' way against ThunderRidge as they made off with a 14-3 victory.
Kayleigh Garcia was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Tehani Lum-Perreira, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Palmer Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lutheran hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .387. However, it's not like Palmer Ridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .416. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
