Volleyball Recap: Old Lyme Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It was a proper cat-fight when Old Lyme duked it out with Cromwell on Monday. The Wildcats took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-15, 8-25, 25-21.

Maya LeQuire paced Old Lyme's offense, picking up 12 kills. LeQuire got some help from Kaylyn Vernon and her 15 assists. LeQuire was also solid from the service line: she led the team with ten aces.

Among those leading the charge was Isabella Davis, who had four digs and three aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September of 2024.

Old Lyme has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Cromwell, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Old Lyme will face off against rival Morgan at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Cromwell is set to challenge their familiar foe Hale Ray at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
