West Ranch and Saugus are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Wildcats will take on the Centurions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Ranch has given up an average of 45.7 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

West Ranch is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Friday. They were dealt a 63-21 defeat at the hands of Hart. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 600th, while the Hawks are ranked 268th).

Meanwhile, Saugus got their first taste of in-conference action on Friday and they started things off strong. They breezed past Canyon to the tune of 48-20. The Centurions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 28 points or more this season.

Saugus' win came from a few key players West Ranch will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ty Hall, who rushed for 129 yards and one TD on only 15 carries. Jake Nuttall was another key player, throwing for 215 yards and three touchdowns while completing 88.5% of his passes.

Saugus didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Matt Long and Degan Grant.

Saugus' victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for West Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

West Ranch took their win against Saugus in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 48-24 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
