Softball Recap: Trinity Christian Wins Going Away Against Upson-Lee

Trinity Christian came out on top against Upson-Lee on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run second inning. The Lions blew past the Knights 8-0. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won three matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Mary Ruth Adkins, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Upson-Lee off the board. Adkins has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Shiloh Stewart, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Anna Aycock, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.

Trinity Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Upson-Lee, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Trinity Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-3 win against Fayette County on the 2nd. As for Upson-Lee, they have also already played their next contest, a 9-2 defeat against LaGrange on the 2nd.
