Sophia Morrison leads a balanced attack to beat Johnsonburg

Recap: Brockway Rovers vs. Johnsonburg Rams

The Brockway Rovers's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They took down Johnsonburg 36-20. This was payback for Brockway, who suffered a 51-46 loss the last time these two teams met.

Brockway's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sophia Morrison, who scored 16 points along with two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Morrison has scored at least a third of Brockway's points. Another player making a difference was Raegan Gelnette, who scored nine points along with nine blocks and eight rebounds.

Brockway's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Johnsonburg, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brockway will square off against DuBois Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Johnsonburg will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cameron County at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th.
