Football Recap: Show Low Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Show Low ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with a 21-14 win over the Blue Ridge Yellow Jackets. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Show Low had a senior duo take command as Jett Walker gained 132 total yards and two touchdowns and Kash Perkins threw for 193 yards and a pair of TDs. Perkins' passing game has become a key predictor of the Cougars' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise.

Show Low is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.2 points over those games. As for Blue Ridge, they dropped their record down to 4-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Show Low will welcome Shadow Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Blue Ridge, they will take on ALA - Mesa North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
