Soccer Recap: Sonoma Valley Takes Down San Rafael in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Sonoma Valley walked away with it. Their defense stepped up to hand the San Rafael Bulldogs a 1-0 shutout on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Dragons have won by just one goal.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Brianna Jurasek, who's now up to 31 this season.

Sonoma Valley is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 29 goals over those eight matches. With the loss, San Rafael broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-9.

As of now, neither Sonoma Valley nor San Rafael have any future games scheduled.
