Basketball Recap: Big Valley Christian Takes a Loss

Big Valley Christian was the 2-0 winner over Turlock Christian when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Big Valley Christian Lions took a blow against the Turlock Christian Eagles on Monday, falling 44-12. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 24-3.

Anni Boren was Big Valley Christian's leading scorer, having posted ten points. Kailey Rivera held things down on the boards with four rebounds.

Turlock Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Faith Hayes, who went 9 of 19 on her way to 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Hayes is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last seven games she's played. Christiana Eivaz was another key player, putting up six points and 21 boards.

Big Valley Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Turlock Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Big Valley Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 47-21 defeat against Millennium on the 7th. As for Turlock Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-15 loss against Dos Palos on the 6th.
