Soccer Game Preview: Douglas County vs. Lithia Springs

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Douglas County take on the Lithia Springs at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Douglas County came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 4-1 to South Paulding. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Lithia Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of South Cobb.

Lithia Springs' loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Douglas County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Douglas County suffered a grim 6-3 defeat to Lithia Springs when the teams last played back in March of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Douglas County was down 6-2.
