Baseball Recap: Mceachern Starts Season with Win at Home

McEachern took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Chapel Hill Panthers a 6-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Indians have posted since April 6, 2024.

McEachern got a great performance from JC Crenshaw as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave Crenshaw a new career-high.

At the plate, Alijah Asad was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). Jordan Stokes was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple and one run.

Chapel Hill's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

McEachern will have a chance to go back-to-back against Chapel Hill: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday.
