Football Recap: Hugoton's Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

Hugoton scored first but ultimately less than Holcomb in their contest on Friday. They fell 20-14 to the Longhorns. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Longhorns recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Leading Holcomb to victory were Cooper Cranston and Chasyn Cosner. Cranston rushed for 131 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, while Cosner rushed for 106 yards and one score.

Having lost for the first time this season, Hugoton fell to 6-1. As for Holcomb, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Hugoton and Holcomb should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings. The Eagles (ranked 46th) will meet Goodland (ranked 145th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Holcomb will challenge Southwestern Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (24 vs. 202).
