Northwest Whitfield's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 10-7 win over the Heritage Generals. The Bruins' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Northwest Whitfield's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Heritage, their loss ended a 21-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2.

Coming up, Northwest Whitfield will be taking part in a tournament against Jasper County at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Heritage, they will venture away from home to take on Ridgeland at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Generals surely won't give up without a fight.
