Soccer Game Preview: Piedmont Hills vs. Leigh

The Piedmont Hills Pirates will challenge the Leigh Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Piedmont Hills' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Piedmont Hills' offense. They lost 4-0 to Leland on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 291st, while the Chargers are ranked 69th).

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Leigh's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They and Pioneer finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw. The result kept the Longhorns happy, as they haven't lost a game yet this season.

Their goal came courtesy of Shani Outlaw, who's now up to five this season.

Leigh's draw gives them a new season record of 8-0-2. As for Piedmont Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3-4.
