Fort Calhoun hasn't had much luck against Yutan recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Pioneers will head out to challenge the Chieftains at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Yutan will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Fort Calhoun extended their winning streak to four on Thursday. The Pioneers were the clear victors by a 61-38 margin over Douglas County West. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Pioneers just coasted through the last quarter.

Fort Calhoun relied on the efforts of Raeann Massey, who went 5-for-8 en route to 14 points and four steals, and Ella Bouwman, who shot 75% from the field on her way to 15 points. Bouwman continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Kamie Nelson also deserves some recognition as she pulled down her first rebound of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Yutan). They took their game on Saturday with ease, bagging a 57-19 victory over West Point-Beemer. The Chieftains not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since January 10th (when they won 54-12).
Yutan's win came from a few key players Fort Calhoun will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mylee Tichota, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jersey Siske, who put up 11 points.
Fort Calhoun's record now sits at 4-0. As for Yutan, their record is now 3-1.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Fort Calhoun hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 58.5 points per game. It's a different story for Yutan, though, as they've been averaging only 35.8 points. The only thing between Fort Calhoun and another offensive beatdown is the Chieftains. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Fort Calhoun beat Yutan 45-38 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pioneers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
