It was a good run, but Lampeter-Strasburg unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 8-2 to the Hempfield Black Knights. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Pioneers have suffered since April 26, 2024.

Lampeter-Strasburg saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Messinger, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Cooper Hillen was another, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Lampeter-Strasburg's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Hempfield, the win keeps they at an undefeated 7-0.

Lampeter-Strasburg and Hempfield should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Pioneers will square off against Lebanon at 4:15 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (24 vs. 323). Meanwhile, Hempfield (ranked 31st) will meet Cedar Crest (ranked 145th) at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
