Softball Recap: New Franklin Takes a Loss

New Franklin blew Community out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Community got their revenge. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 9-7. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly two runs.

This is the second loss in a row for New Franklin and nudges their season record down to 5-3. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only two runs. As for Community, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Franklin will square off against Glasgow at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Yellowjackets have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season. As for Community, they will venture away from home to square off against Madison at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
