Football Game Recap: Cypress Christian Warriors vs. Holy Cross Knights

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Cypress Christian Warriors, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell 32-22 to the Knights on Friday. Cypress Christian's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Marco Gomez was on fire for Holy Cross: he picked up 138 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 88 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Gibby Alvarado, who threw for 261 yards and three touchdowns.

Cypress Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Holy Cross, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Cypress Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Holy Cross will take on Dallas Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dallas Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matchups -- so hopefully Holy Cross likes a good challenge.
