Johnson County was not the first on the board on Monday, but they got there more often. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Dublin Fighting Irish, sneaking past 3-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in February.

C. Wombles spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Johnson County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was J. Rowland, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Johnson County now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Dublin, they moved to 9-3 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Coming up, Johnson County will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Twiggs County at 4:00 p.m. The Cobras have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.43 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Dublin, they will head out to challenge Jefferson County at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
