Softball Recap: Liberty County Has No Trouble Against Warner Robins

Liberty County won the last time they faced Warner Robins and things went their way on Saturday too. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Demons. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Kayleigh Barnard was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Barnard was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Layla Santiago, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in August of 2024. Brighton Harpe was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Liberty County now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Warner Robins, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty County will welcome McIntosh County Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Buccaneers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Warner Robins, they will face off against Baldwin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
