Softball Game Preview: Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks vs. Decorah-North Winneshiek Vikings

The Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks will face off against the Decorah-North Winneshiek Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Decorah-North Winneshiek will be up against a hot Waverly-Shell Rock squad: the team just extended their winning streak to eight. The Go-Hawks' pitchers stepped up to hand South Winneshiek an 8-0 shutout on Friday.

Meanwhile, Decorah-North Winneshiek made easy work of Mason City on Friday and carried off a 10-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Decorah-North Winneshiek's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Waverly-Shell Rock, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.
