Softball Recap: Auburn Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Auburn's offense. They came up short against the Guardian Angels Central Catholic Bluejays on Tuesday, falling 6-0. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Bluejays recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Gretchen Paschal spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

Auburn's loss dropped their record down to 18-11. As for Guardian Angels Central Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-12 record this season.

Auburn wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 12-2 defeat against Kearney Catholic on the 11th. As for Guardian Angels Central Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-2 loss against NEN on the 10th.
