Softball Recap: Chattahoochee Comes Up Short

Chattahoochee extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-5. They came up short against the Milton Eagles, falling 15-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 7-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

As for Milton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-5. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Milton's part, Avery Miller made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Miller has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Milton got a massive performance out of Elizabeth Wilkes, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Bre Tyldesley, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Chattahoochee will face off against rival Seckinger at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Milton is set to take on their familiar foe Gainesville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
