Baseball Recap: Rosholt Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Amherst, Rosholt was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Almond-Bancroft Eagles. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Tyler Kluck made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zane Volz, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Aiden Wiza was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Rosholt's victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Almond-Bancroft, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Coming up, Rosholt will venture away from home to square off against Tigerton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Almond-Bancroft, they will welcome Tri-County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
