Basketball Game Preview: Mission Hills Grizzlies vs. Sierra Canyon Trailblazers

The Mission Hills Grizzlies will face off against the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mission Hills knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Sierra Canyon likes a good challenge.

Mission Hills is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Francis Parker by a score of 60-51. The victory continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now won three in a row.

Mission Hills' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maleena Nava, who went 9-for-15 on her way to 23 points and six boards. The dominant performance gave Nava a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Hc Harding, who shot 42% from the field to rack up 12 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Sierra Canyon and Ontario Christian (ranked ninth and first in the MaxPreps national rankings respectively) squared off in a high-profile game last Saturday. Sierra Canyon took a 62-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ontario Christian. The Trailblazers' defeat signaled the end of their 22-game winning streak.

Sierra Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 27-2. As for Mission Hills, their win bumped their record up to 23-8.

Mission Hills took a serious blow against Sierra Canyon in their previous meeting back in January, falling 84-46. Can Mission Hills avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
