Softball Recap: Elkhorn Gets the Win

Elkhorn won the last time they faced Waverly and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Antlers walked away with a 5-1 win over the Vikings. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Antlers.

Lina Aden spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.7 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, Samantha Michaud was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Karlie Villwok, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

The victory got Elkhorn back to even at 3-3. As for Waverly, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Elkhorn will challenge Douglas County West on Thursday. The Antlers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcon have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Waverly, they will venture away from home to face off against Skutt Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
