Soccer Game Preview: Calhoun vs. Gilmer

Calhoun has won three straight games at home, while Gilmer has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Calhoun Yellow Jackets will welcome the Gilmer Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Calhoun is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Adairsville get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Gilmer had just enough and edged out Pickens 1-0 on Monday.

Gilmer has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those five contests. The victory got Calhoun back to even at 4-4.

Calhoun took their win against Gilmer in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 4-1. In that match, Calhoun amassed a halftime lead of 3-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
