Soccer Recap: Lumpkin County vs. Franklin County
After flying high against Banks County last Thursday, Lumpkin County came back down to earth. The Lumpkin County Indians fell just short of the Franklin County Lions by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2016.
Lumpkin County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Franklin County, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Coming up, Lumpkin County is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Dawson County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lumpkin County will be up against Dawson County's rather soft defense (which has allowed 5.2 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Franklin County, they will be playing at home against Lake Oconee Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
