It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Montezuma-Cortez ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Eagle Valley Devils 10-8. The victory was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

AnnaLisa Abeyta spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits.
