Football Recap: St. John Paul II Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If St. John Paul II was feeling good fresh off their 44-13 takedown of Kate Duncan Smith DAR last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The game between the Falcons and the Madison Academy Mustangs didn't end well, with the Falcons falling 48-29. The Falcons lost against the Mustangs in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 48-7 score last time.

Defeat or not, St. John Paul II got some senior leadership from Mark Andrzejewski and Joey Ross. Andrzejewski gained 158 total yards, while Ross threw for 229 yards and two TDs.

Daniel McCauley was a one-man wrecking crew For Madison Academy. as he rushed for 80 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries. The dominant performance also gave McCauley a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two).

St. John Paul II's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Madison Academy, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. St. John Paul II will head out to challenge Danville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will be up against the Hawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 42.25 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Madison Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Plainview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Bears have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven games.
