Baseball Recap: Perry Comes Up Short

After flying high against Mount Morris on Thursday, Perry came back down to earth. The Yellowjackets fell 16-12 to the Caledonia-Mumford Raiders on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 last Friday.

Maximus Siewert made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Perry: the team is 6-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tyler Koson, who earned three runs and three stolen bases.

Perry's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Caledonia-Mumford, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-10 record.

Perry does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Caledonia-Mumford, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 16-2 win against Warsaw on the 17th.
